In 2010 I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. In February 2011, I underwent surgery and radiation treatment. During surgery my doctor damaged my vocal cords and lower trapeze nerves in my left arm. I was unable to talk or move my left arm when I woke up from surgery. With help from physical therapy, I was able to get partial movement back but still have weakness and limited range of motion in my left arm. I had shock therapy on my vocal cords but my left vocal cord never recovered. Thankful I’m able to speak but with only one working vocal cord it affects my breathing which limits me from many activities and sometimes speaking.

Even after surgery and radiation they were unable to rid me of the cancer. June 2017 I had my 2nd surgery with better results
( no surgical damage ) but I’m still living with cancer along with other health issues (I can elaborate later if you are interested). Due to this it’s hard to maintain a regular job, so I thought that I’d give this a shot.
